This Agreement is between Scope Ark (“Scope Ark”, “we”, “us”) and the independent teacher who delivers lessons to Scope Ark students (“you”). It is deliberately short. It covers only what both sides need agreed in writing; everything about your rates, your availability, and which students you take is arranged between us case by case.
This Agreement takes effect when you confirm your acceptance of it to Scope Ark in writing. It is not imposed on you by using the platform.
Scope Ark is the trading name of SCOPEARK PORTAL, a Sole Establishment licensed by the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Trade Licence No. 1625379, Commercial Register No. 2864430), Oud Metha, Dubai, P.O. Box 1212.
1. You are self-employed
- You work as an independent contractor. This Agreement does not create employment, partnership, or agency between us.
- You set your own rate for your lessons, agreed with us before you begin teaching a student.
- You set your own availability, and you may decline any student or session offered to you.
- You are free to teach elsewhere, including on other platforms and privately, provided you comply with section 4 below.
- You are responsible for your own taxes and any insurance or licences your own country requires.
2. Student information is confidential
You will receive personal information about students and their parents — names, contact details, ages, school level, and notes on academic progress. This information belongs to the family, not to you and not to us.
- Use it only to prepare and deliver the lessons you have been asked to give.
- Do not share it with anyone, and do not use it for your own marketing or for any other work.
- Keep it securely, and do not store it in shared or public places.
- When you stop teaching a student, or when our engagement ends, delete any student information you still hold, including messages, contact details, notes, and files. Confirm to us that you have done so if we ask.
- If you lose a device or believe student information has been exposed, tell us within 24 hours.
This section continues to apply after our engagement ends.
3. Conduct during lessons
Most Scope Ark students are children. These rules protect them, and they protect you.
- Keep your camera on for the whole session, and teach from an appropriate, private, and presentable setting.
- Use only the lesson channels agreed with Scope Ark. Do not contact a student privately on any personal or social channel.
- A parent or guardian may attend, observe, or join any session at any time, without notice.
- Do not record a session, or photograph or screenshot a student, for any reason. Scope Ark does not record lessons either.
- Do not ask a student for personal information beyond what the lesson requires, and do not discuss matters unrelated to their learning.
- If a student tells you something that worries you about their safety or wellbeing, tell Scope Ark the same day. Do not attempt to handle it yourself.
- Be punctual. If you cannot attend a session, tell us as early as you can so the family can be informed.
4. Working with Scope Ark students outside the platform
Scope Ark introduces you to families and carries the cost of finding them, arranging lessons, and handling payment. In return:
- For twelve (12) months after your last lesson with a given student, do not teach that student privately or through another service, and do not arrange payment for lessons outside Scope Ark.
- Do not encourage a student or parent to move lessons off the platform.
This applies only to students Scope Ark introduced you to. It does not restrict students you already taught before working with us, and it does not restrict your teaching work generally.
5. Payment
- You are paid for lessons you have delivered, at the rate agreed for that student, on the schedule we agree with you.
- Payment is made by bank transfer to the account you give us. We use your bank details for this purpose only.
- If a genuine dispute arises over a specific lesson, we may hold payment for that lesson while we look into it. We will tell you why, and we will resolve it within thirty (30) days. Payment for your other delivered lessons is not affected.
- Scope Ark will not withhold or cancel payment for lessons you have already delivered as a penalty for any other reason.
6. Teaching materials
- Materials you create remain yours. You keep full ownership and may use them anywhere else you wish.
- You give Scope Ark permission to use the materials you share with a student for the purpose of delivering and supporting that student’s lessons. This permission ends when our engagement ends.
- Scope Ark will not sell your materials, license them to others, or use them to train artificial intelligence systems.
- Materials Scope Ark provides to you remain ours; please do not redistribute them outside the platform.
7. Ending the engagement
- Either of us may end this engagement at any time. Where you can, please give us enough notice to arrange cover for students mid-package.
- We may end it immediately in cases of dishonesty, a breach of section 3, or conduct that puts a student at risk.
- You will be paid for every lesson you have already delivered.
- When the engagement ends we permanently delete your contact details, qualifications, and profile information. We keep records of payments made to you for as long as tax and commercial law requires.
- Sections 2, 4, and 6 continue to apply after the engagement ends.
8. Responsibility
- You are responsible for the content and quality of your teaching.
- You must not offer to complete exams, assignments, or coursework on a student’s behalf, or assist with any form of academic dishonesty.
- Scope Ark is not responsible for arrangements you make with a student or family outside the platform.
9. Changes to this Agreement
If we want to change this Agreement, we will send you the new version and give you at least thirty (30) days’ notice. If you do not accept the change, you may end the engagement within that period without penalty, and you will be paid for all lessons delivered. Continuing to teach after the notice period means you accept the new version.
10. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of Dubai.
